Nephilim Spirit of Resistance

I had a dream in which I was in a very large church building. It was like a giant cathedral. Several different scenarios were taking place, the main one was that I was standing with four other Christians and was telling them of the necessity for intercession/prophetic proclamation. The others began to pray and proclaim various things, none of which seemed to hold any importance. And then I started to prophesy. I began to speak how sons must come forth and that we must break through to walk in the realm of sonship. I was speaking how we had to carry the realm of sonship with us as we went forth. At first it seemed like I was causally talking, without any real intensity behind my words. And then the scene shifted and the things I was speaking took on an intensity and I realized that what I was voicing was indeed the Word of the Lord. God was speaking about sonship and us entering in to walk in it.

The scene shifted again. This time I was standing with a great sense of urgency. I was unable to speak out loud, only in a whisper. I was physically unable to raise my voice above a whisper. The reason for this was that there was a great spiritual assault that I was facing and the battle was such that my voice was cut off except for a whisper. I kept saying to those who were with me that there was a Nephilim spirit of resistance set against us and that we must prophesy against it. The others could not hear me, however. It was not only because I was whispering, but also because there was so much clamor and noise around us. The clamor was not really talking or singing, per se, but just plain noise. I finally got the four people with me gathered into a tight circle and told them again, “There is a Nephilim spirit of resistance set against us.” The four people, however, although they heard me, did not grasp what I was saying. One went off on a tangent talking about irrelevant stuff, and the others just wandered off. I was left standing there alone.

The Nephilim spirit set against us is related to what I was prophesying in the first scene. First and foremost it is set to keep us from breaking through to a realm of sonship we have not walked in before. It is set to oppose everything God has spoken concerning sonship. There were numerous Scriptures that came to me after waking up. One passage that nails this spirit down is referenced in Acts 7:51:

"You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did.”

This passage speaks of resisting the Holy Spirit. It is identified with the “Synagogue of the Freedmen” (vs.9) which includes the Pharisees, etc. In other words, this Nephilim spirit that resists us is a religious spirit. When I was trying to make myself heard to the four Christians, there was great clamor all around us. Ex. 32:15-30 tells the story of Moses bringing down the Ten Commandments from the Mountain and encountering the rebellion and idolatry among the Israelites. Notice verses 17-20:

17* Now when Joshua heard the sound of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, "There is a sound of war in the camp."
18* But he said, "It is not the sound of the cry of triumph, Nor is it the sound of the cry of defeat; But the sound of singing I hear."
19* And it came about, as soon as Moses came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing; and Moses' anger burned, and he threw the tablets from his hands and shattered them at the foot of the mountain.
20* And he took the calf which they had made and burned it with fire, and ground it to powder, and scattered it over the surface of the water, and made the sons of Israel drink it.

The sound Joshua heard was not the sound of war, but the sound of idolatry. Moses identified it as the sound of singing, yet to Joshua it sounded like war in the camp. It was not pleasant music. This “sound of war” is a type of the religious spirit. It is clamorous and almost impossible to hear over. This spirit constantly spreads its influence over Christianity. It is why it is so hard for the average Christian to hear a Living Word. It constantly dulls the ears to the true Voice of the Lord.

As I  pondered these things, there was a deep witness in my spirit that judgment was being brought against this Nephilim spirit. The signs of judgment and authority were coming in my hands and in my right arm. At this point I woke my wife and related to her what was coming. She was immediately in tune with me and as she blessed me, there came a prophetic flow to my spirit. The Word that came forth was one of judgment upon the things that have hindered us and our release into a greater realm of sonship. There was a great awareness that it was the Lord Jesus Christ who was bringing the judgment. The magnitude of the realm of Satan is overwhelming and there are none of us who can stand in ourselves against it. In ourselves we are not capable of contending with the power of Satan on this level. But the Lord Jesus Christ is capable. And He brings the victory to us. It is something of a paradox. Christ alone can manifest the judgment and victory we are looking for, yet it is through us that it takes place. On one hand it’s totally a sovereign act of God, yet it’s through us. Rev. 18:20 says: "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her." The literal Greek reads here, “God has judged your judgment of her.”

Jeremiah 31 gives and excellent picture of the realm of Zion that God is establishing for us. But notice how it begins: “For the LORD has ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.”

God is speaking he is rising up in judgment against an enemy who is stronger than we. God begins to make His arm bare. We could say we are at a time in which the Lord is bringing judgment upon spiritual Babylon, or we could say we are finally ascending spiritually to a realm in which all these things are taking place. The latter is probably more accurate. Vertically we ascend until we come to the realm where these judgments and releases are happening.

The spirit that was behind Pharaoh attempting to kill all the male children in Moses’ day and the spirit that was behind Herod attempting to kill all the babies under three years of age in Jesus’ day is the same spirit that opposes us. It’s purpose is to stop the birth process of the Father bringing many sons to glory. It’s akin to the passages in Rev. 18:

* ¶ And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars;
2* and she was with child; and she *cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth.
3* And another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.
4* And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven, and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
5* And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.

We must be fully “begotten” of the Father before we can turn and minister the release to the rest of Christianity. All of Christianity lies under the influence of this Nephilim religious spirit. We will minister to God’s people but only as we obtain the necessary deliverance ourselves. That’s not to say we don’t function on the level we have obtained, but we must be ever mindful there is more to be appropriated.
