The Lord Has Spoken,
Who Can But Prophesy?

Am. 3:
7  Surely the Lord GOD does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets.
8  A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy?

Our response to the revelation God is giving in this hour should be a full heart set to prophesy His word. Until we speak forth that which God has revealed, it remains a nebulous thing. But when we speak, the Holy Spirit creates the reality of it through us.

Unless our hearts are full of the Word God is speaking, we prophesy empty air. Romans 12:6 says we are to prophesy in proportion to our faith. This means we create according to the fullness of our hearts before the Lord. Jeremiah said the Word in his heart was like a fire shut up in his bones (Jer.20:9). The fire that burned in Jeremiah’s heart was a powerful channel of creativity.

Jer. 1:
9  Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10  See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

Jer. 15:
16 Thy words were found and I ate them, And Thy words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

It’s only as we eat His Word does it become the fire in our bones that creates. As Jeremiah ate the Words of the Lord, they became the joy and delight of his heart. “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Mat. 12:34).”

Verse 8 from our above text in Amos proclaims, “A lion has roared! Who will not fear?” It’s the Lion of the tribe of Judah that is roaring. The Lord is speaking to the Body of Christ as He spoke to Jeremiah of old. It’s a time to root out, pull down, to destroy and throw down, and to build and to plant. Unless we as the Body of Christ are the channels of His voice, all is nullified. Do we want to see this great calling fall to another generation? I certainly don’t. It’s time to stand up and be counted. It’s time to be the oracles of God in the earth (1st Pet. 4:11).
