When the Head of the House Arises

24* "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
 25* "Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, 'Lord, open up to us!' then He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know where you are from.'
 26 "Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets';
 27 and He will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.'
 28* "In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.
 29* "And they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God.
 30* "And behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last."

There is a mystical interpretation of these passages that has its fulfillment within us.

"Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.” The narrow door is the way of the cross that crucifies the soul/flesh realm. Many have a revelation of the Kingdom of God. There is much so-called “Kingdom teaching” floating around Christianity right now. But unless one is entering through the “narrow” door, he cannot experience the Life and reality of the Lord in the revelation he has. The Kingdom of God becomes meaningless teaching, projected off into the future because it cannot be walked in or entered into in the present. When the soul realm of an individual is not experiencing the work of the cross, he cannot enter the realm of spirit where fulfillment lies. Thus, many are seeking to enter but cannot because they aren’t experiencing the cross in such a way that opens up a higher realm.

"Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, 'Lord, open up to us!' then He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know where you are from.'

A more accurate reading of this passage would be “when the head of the house arises, not “gets up.” This gives the passage a different connotation. This passage is being fulfilled now within the Body of Christ. When the “head of the house”, which is the Lord Jesus Christ, begins to arise within us, the door to the realm of spirit is shut to the soul realm. No more can we know the Lord as we have in the past. No more can we relate to Him or experience Him as we did before we began to enter through the narrow door. The past is shut out.

Even though our soul lives may cry out to Him, “Lord, open up to us!” His response to us is, 'I do not know where you are from.'  Then the soul realm will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets';
and He will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.'

Once the Head of the house begins to arise within us, the former ways of knowing Him are shut out forever. If we refuse the cross, the following verses become our experience:

28* "In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out (the connotation in the Greek is of being driven out).
 29* "And they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God.
 30* "And behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last."

Isa. 43:
18 "Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past.
 19 "Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.
 20 "The beasts of the field will glorify Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I have given waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My chosen people.

“Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it?” The Lord seeks to arise within us. His nature is to be manifested in our lives. As we seek Him He will make a roadway in the wilderness, there will be rivers of His life manifested to us in the desert. He will give drink to His chosen people.
